Notebook
The Notebook is your space for the writing that doesn't belong to a single trade — pre-market plans, session recaps, weekly reviews, and lessons learned. Notes are organized into folders and tied to your performance on the day they cover.
Layout
The Notebook is a three-pane view:
- Folders — your note folders, each with a color dot and a count
- Notes — the notes inside the selected folder, newest first
- Editor — the selected note, open for editing
Folders
Folders keep different kinds of writing separate — for example Daily Journal, Weekly Prep, or Sessions Recap:
- Select a folder to filter the note list, or All notes to see everything
- When creating or editing a note, pick an existing folder chip or choose + New folder and type a name
- Notes without a folder appear under Unfiled
Writing and editing notes
A note has a title, a folder, a date, and a body:
- Click New (in the Folders pane) or New note (in the editor pane) to start a blank note
- Click any note to open it in the editor and edit in place
- Save note (creating) or Save (editing) persists your changes — a title is required, and Save stays disabled until you have unsaved edits. Delete (available when editing an existing note) removes it after an inline confirm.
The editor uses plain text, so you can structure your notes however you like.
Performance context
When you open an existing note that has a date, the editor shows that day's Day performance strip — Net P&L, Trades, and Win rate — right beside your writing. Below those cards, it also shows a small Wins-vs-Losses bar chart for the day. (Stats appear only for saved notes you're editing, not while composing a brand-new note.) This keeps your reflection grounded in what actually happened:
- Pair a session recap with the day's numbers
- Review whether your pre-market plan matched the result
A simple, durable routine: a short plan note before the session and a recap note after. Over a few weeks the recaps become the most valuable pages in your journal.
The day-level daily note on the Daily Review tab and the Notebook are complementary: use the daily note for a quick line about a specific day, and the Notebook for longer, organized writing across days.
