Common Issues
Quick solutions to the most frequently encountered problems.
Connection Issues
"API key invalid" Error
Cause: The API key, secret, or passphrase is incorrect.
Solution:
- Go to Settings → API Keys
- Remove the existing key
- Create a new API key on your exchange
- Re-add it to Crodl with the correct credentials
Copy-paste your keys directly from the exchange to avoid typos. Be careful not to include leading or trailing spaces.
"Permission denied" Error
Cause: Your API key doesn't have the required permissions.
Solution:
- Log in to your exchange
- Check the API key's permissions
- Ensure Read and Trade are both enabled
- If you changed permissions, you may need to re-add the key in Crodl
Data Not Loading
Cause: Usually a temporary network issue or API rate limit.
Solution:
- Wait 30–60 seconds and refresh
- Check your internet connection
- Verify the exchange is operational (check their status page)
- Try clearing your browser cache
Trading Issues
Orders Not Executing
Possible causes:
- Insufficient margin on the exchange
- Price moved away from your limit price
- Exchange is in maintenance mode
- API key doesn't have trade permission
Solution:
- Check your exchange balance directly
- Verify the order was received on the exchange's own interface
- Check API Errors for specific error codes
Position Shows Wrong PnL
Cause: This can happen when data is cached or partially loaded.
Solution:
- Wait for the next data refresh (30 seconds)
- Click the refresh button to force update
- Compare with the exchange's own PnL display
- If discrepancy persists, clear cache in Settings → General
Positions Not Showing
Cause: Data may still be loading, or the position was closed on the exchange directly.
Solution:
- Wait for data to refresh
- Check the exchange directly to confirm the position exists
- Verify your API key is still valid and has read permission
Account Issues
Can't Log In
- Verify your email address is correct
- Try the Forgot Password flow
- Check if your account email was changed
- Clear browser cookies and try again
Session Expired
Crodl sessions expire for security. If you're logged out:
- Log in again with your credentials
- This is normal and expected behavior
- Your exchange connections and settings are preserved
If you're experiencing frequent session expirations, check that your browser isn't blocking cookies from Crodl.
Performance Issues
Slow Loading
- Clear your browser cache
- Disable browser extensions that might interfere
- Try a different browser
- Check your internet connection speed
High Memory Usage
If Crodl is using too much browser memory:
- Close other browser tabs
- Refresh the page to clear accumulated data
- Use a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge)
